Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has announced major welfare and administrative decisions aimed at improving the wellbeing of local government administrators and state workers, while also addressing recent security concerns in the state.
The governor disclosed that Heads of Local Government Administration have not benefited from the reviewed salary structure since January last year, assuring that the backlog would be addressed before the end of the month.
He also approved immediate promotions for all state workers due for advancement in 2025.
Governor Seyi Makinde, during the annual interfaith prayer session held at the car park of his office at the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan, disclosed that Heads of Local Government Administration who have not benefited from the reviewed salary structure since January last year, would get what is due to them before the end of the month.
He also approved immediate promotions for all state workers due for advancement in 2025.
He stated that the necessary documents to implement the improved salary structure for Heads of Local Government Administration would be signed into law before the end of the month, enabling them to begin enjoying the benefits.
The governor also revealed that all state workers due for promotion in the year 2025 would be promoted with immediate effect, adding that he would sign their promotion letters the same day.
