The Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday received a letter from Governor Seyi Makinde seeking legislative confirmation of Mr. Ademola Temitayo Aderinto as a commissioner nominee.
The message from the governor was read during plenary, following the resumption of legislative activities by the House.
Aderinto is the current Senior Special Assistant on Public Works to the Executive Governor, Seyi Makinde.
He had previously served as a Special Assistant to the governor on Environment and Natural Resources under the first dispensation.
The sitting marked the first plenary of 2026 legislative calendar after the Assembly reconvened on Monday, January 20.
In the letter, Governor Makinde formally requested the lawmakers to screen and confirm Aderinto for appointment into the Oyo State Executive Council, in line with constitutional provisions.
Although the Assembly acknowledged receipt of the nomination, it did not fix a date for the screening exercise. The House, however, adjourned plenary to Thursday, January 22.
The screening, when scheduled, is expected to be conducted by the appropriate committee of the House before consideration by the full Assembly.
